enFamilia, Inc.

Carlos E. Salgado, MFA, and Rocio Tafur-Salgado, Ph.D., founded en Familia Inc. to help improve and preserve family life for migrant farm workers and low-income families living in the southernmost cities of Miami-Dade County. The community in Deep South Dade, which includes Homestead, Florida City, Leisure City, and Naranja, is affected by factors such as poverty, lack of educational access, discrimination, cultural prejudices, and immigration challenges, all of which have served as catalysts for the development of programming offered.  enFamilia’s Path to Success After School Program fills a gap for much-needed enrichment, tutoring, and academic support for youth with majority non-English speaking parents.
